Casa Agrícola Moita de Deus private practice
Casa Agrícola Moita de Deus · Lisbon

Counsel, content and capital, practised quietly.

Casa Agrícola Moita de Deus is the private practice of Rodrigo Moita de Deus: institutional advisory, authored content and a small portfolio of investments, run from Lisbon since 2013.

I

Discreet Advisory

Public affairs & institutional relations Positioning, reputation & message Regulatory and political dialogue Crisis, transition and succession moments

Counsel for companies, foundations and public bodies on the questions that sit between business, politics and public opinion: how an institution is understood, by whom, and what it should say when the answer matters.

The work is done directly, without an agency between the client and the adviser. It draws on two decades of experience in communications and public affairs on both sides of the table — as a journalist and commentator, and as the executive head of an industry association negotiating with regulators, municipalities and government.

Engagements are few by design. They are confidential, and the practice does not publish client names or case studies. Those who need a reference will know whom to ask.

II

Meaningful Content

Documentaries Books & essays Scripts, formats & editorial direction paxenglish.com

Content that carries an argument, not merely a message: documentaries, books and scripts written and produced with the same discipline applied to advisory work.

Pax English began as an essay on the role of languages throughout human history (D. Quixote, 2022) and grew into a five-part documentary series for RTP, the Portuguese public broadcaster, on how languages shaped religion, nations, science and power — filmed across several countries and languages. It is a documentary about societies and cultures, not about linguistics.

Earlier titles include two novels published by Bertrand. Rodrigo Moita de Deus is a regular analyst and commentator on RTP and a frequent speaker, including three TEDx talks, on media, language and public life.

Quiet Investments

Direct holdings & real estate Business development for third parties Market access & partnerships

A small portfolio of direct investments, chiefly in real estate, held for the long term and managed without noise.

Alongside it, the practice puts its network and judgement at the service of others: business development for companies seeking access to a market, a partner, a licence or a decision-maker — in Portugal and abroad. This is the commerce in the signature: opening doors, and knowing which ones are worth opening.

Where an opportunity warrants it, the practice may invest alongside the people it advises. It prefers to be a patient minority partner to a loud majority one.

The practice

A house, not a firm.

Casa Agrícola Moita de Deus was established in 2013 as the personal company of Rodrigo Moita de Deus. The name is a family one; the practice is a modern one. It exists so that advisory, content and investment activity can be conducted under a single, private roof — with no staff to feed, no offices to fill and no reason to accept work that is not worth doing well.

Over the years its projects have touched architecture, markets, hospitality, restaurants and communications, for private clients and for institutions. What they have in common is a preference for the well-considered over the loud.
